Opening Settings#
Choose Settings in the title bar of Castellan's page. Back to the manor returns. Each change is saved as you make it, and checked first: a value Castellan can't use is refused, with the reason beside it, and nothing else changes.
Two things aren't on the Settings page:
- Who holds each role: on the role's card, Expand, then Holder.
- The theme: the Theme menu in the title bar. It's worn by Castellan's page and every agent's.
The welcome, linked at the top of Settings, walks through the manor again.
The manor#
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Name | The manor's name: the page's heading and its tab's title. | Castellan |
| Description | The paragraph under the heading. | A line about the manor |
| Port | Where the page is: http://castellan.localhost:<port>/. A port another program uses is refused. Shown once a developer agent is hired. | 18585 |
| Back up to | The folder the settings backups go to. See Backups. | %LOCALAPPDATA%\Castellan\Backups, on this PC only |
| Backups kept | How many backups are kept, from 1 to 365; the newest from before that many updates are kept besides. | 14 |
| Background work | Go easy on this PC: new agents do their heavy first work one at a time, and scheduled work runs at low priority. Full speed: everything at once. See Where the work runs. | Go easy on this PC |
| Use the graphics card for models when there's an NPU | Shown only on a PC with both. Off, the NPU does all the model work and the graphics card stays free. | On |
Restart Manor, under these, restarts Castellan's page. A new port takes effect then, and the page follows it to the new address.
License#
What this PC holds, signing in with your email or a key, subscribing, and giving a PC's place back. See Your license, the trial and your PCs.
Notifications#
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Notify me | The agents' Windows notifications. Off, they still show on each page and in Castellan. | On |
| Quiet hours | No notifications between these times. The same time twice: no quiet hours. | 22:00 to 07:00 |
Every agent follows these. What each agent notifies you about is in its own settings. See Needs you, notifications and quiet hours.
Developer agents#
Which of the developers' staff are hired, each developer office and who holds it, and how to hire one. See Hiring, switching and letting staff go.
Automatic updates#
A card for Castellan and each agent, in the roles' order: its version, what's out, what an automatic update waits for, and its Update automatically switch. All on and All off switch every one. All are off until you switch them on. See Updates.
Repositories and Versions#
Shown once a developer agent is hired.
- Repositories: your own repositories on this PC, for the staff to look after. See Your own repositories.
- Versions: with the Steward hired, where each repository's version stands: the version on its branch, the one it works on next, and the latest ready to merge.
Backups#
Last, and folded until you open it (it opens by itself when backups have a problem): the backups there are, Back up now, and Restore… on each. See Backups.
The banner#
If the manor has more than one banner, a switch in the banner's corner changes it, and the tab's icon with it, for every tab.
