How a round goes#
Every 15 minutes while it's on duty (Looks every), or on Run now, it does the jobs that are on, in your repositories, one test run at a time and at most 3 a round. Each job can be turned off under Its jobs in Settings.
Your branches#
A local branch qualifies when it:
- has commits that aren't on
origin/<branch>; - has no open pull request;
- isn't checked out with uncommitted changes;
- has had no new commit for 2 hours (Leave a branch alone for): you may still be working on it.
It's tested at its newest commit.
- When every case passes, it's pushed (never forced) and opened as a ready pull request, with its commits and each case's result. It shows under Ready for you, and Windows tells you (Tell me on this PC).
- When a case fails, nothing is pushed. It shows under Didn't pass with its output, and it's tested again once the branch moves.
- A branch whose pull request you closed or merged at that same commit is left alone.
A daily health run#
Once a day, it tests the project's branch as GitHub has it, at a commit not tested yet. It tests the same commit again when a tool it uses changed version.
A failure is run again at once. Passing then means a flaky test: the page says so. Failing twice in a row shows under Didn't pass, with what changed.
Release ready#
Every 6 hours, for each project with a GitHub repository, it checks:
- Its version files agree with each other, and with the latest release's tag.
- Every pull request merged since that release has its changelog line.
- The release's checksum file matches GitHub's digests of its files.
- CI is green on its branch.
It reads your checkout as last fetched, and GitHub through the GitHub CLI, and needs no worktree. It never tags, publishes, edits or comments. Each check shows under its repository's Release ready case.
Drafts#
This job is for the manor's own builder, which opens drafts in its repositories. In your repositories it has nothing to do, and you can turn it off.
What's ready for you#
Ready for you lists the pull requests it opened or marked ready, newest first, until they're merged or closed. Castellan reads how many are still open.
