The Surveyor
HouseholdWorks on its own, within what you allow
Checks that your PC and every agent are working, and says what to mend.
Looks at each agent's page, rounds and logs; Windows, driver and app updates; backups; the disk and the battery. Then it suggests fixes and improvements.
The surveyor walked the estate, wrote down the state of every building, and said what to mend.
What's new
Every release0.4.18
Problems and warnings that have been fixed leave without waiting for the next round.
What's new
- Every 5 minutes between rounds, the Surveyor now runs its checks for Manor, the staff, the code and the PC's quick parts again, and takes out whatever they no longer find. A Steward round that has gone through since, a log error that has aged out or was fixed by an update, a Reeve job that ran fine again, an update that installed, a checkout that caught up, OneDrive running again, idle sessions archived: each leaves the counts, Manor's Repairs and the Steward's alarms within minutes, listed under Cleared since the round with what was seen. Before, only an agent's page, its late round, its round errors and its schedule were looked at again.
- Nothing is cleared from a look that couldn't be made: Manor not answering, an agent it didn't reach, a checkout git couldn't read, a part of the PC that failed.
What changed
- A round that failed once and has run fine since is a note, not a warning. One that failed more than once is still a warning.
- A log line that says it is "not counted as a failure" (the Auditor's audit of an accelerator still loading its model) is no longer taken for an error, and nor is a test that passed (
ok 75 - …) or a subtest's name in the Steward's log.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
Installing
- Castellan installs and updates it by itself. To install it by hand, unpack the zip anywhere and run
node src\cli.ts install(Node 22.18 or later).SHA256SUMS.txtlists its SHA-256 (PowerShell:Get-FileHash).
