The Auditor
Marshal
HouseholdWorks with you
Your displays at the refresh rate, resolution and HDR they offer, after every update.
Says when a driver or Windows update leaves a display at 60 Hz instead of 144, below its resolution, or with HDR off, and sets it right in one press, putting it back by itself unless you keep it. It watches your game controllers too.
The auditors heard the reeve's account every Michaelmas and checked it line by line.
The Auditor has two hires. On an everyday PC the Reckoner takes the office, on a gamer's PC the Marshal does, and the other keeps working behind it. Both are in Household.
What's new
Every release0.1.0
The Marshal joins the gamers' household: your displays and controllers kept as you set them, after every update.
What's new
- Looks at your displays every few minutes and says when one runs below what it offers: a lower refresh rate (60 Hz on a 144 Hz monitor) or a lower resolution, often after a graphics driver or Windows update.
- Fix sets it right in one press. If the screen goes dark or looks wrong, do nothing: it goes back by itself after 15 seconds unless you press Keep it.
- Says when a display offers HDR and it's off, and turns it on in one press, with the same 15 seconds to keep it.
- Watches your game controllers and says when one has a problem.
- After each graphics driver or Windows update, says plainly what it changed on your displays and controllers.
Before you update
- Nothing: it starts looking as soon as you hire it.
Installing
- Castellan installs and updates it by itself. To install it by hand, unpack the zip anywhere and run
node src\cli.ts install(Node 22.18 or later).SHA256SUMS.txtlists its SHA-256 (PowerShell:Get-FileHash).
