The Aletaster
Bridgeward
Your connection to the game servers: its delay, how steady it is, and packets lost.
Measures the way to the regions where online games run their servers, the ones nearest you, every few minutes, grades it for fast online games, and says when your home network (most often Wi-Fi) adds to the delay.
The aletaster tested the ale and bread made on the manor for quality and fair measure.
The Aletaster has three hires. On an everyday PC the Weigher takes the office, on a gamer's PC the Bridgeward does, and the other keeps working behind it. Both are in Household. With Workshop, the Aletaster takes the office and the others keep working behind it.
What's new
Every release0.1.0
The Bridgeward joins the gamers' household: the way to the game servers, measured.
What's new
- Every 10 minutes it measures your connection to the regions where online games run their servers: the delay, how steady it is, and connections lost.
- Grades each for fast online games, in plain words: good, playable, or rough, and why.
- Watches the regions nearest you, from the time zone Windows is set to, without asking; pick others in Settings.
- Checks your router too, and says when your home network (most often Wi-Fi) adds to the delay, and what would steady it.
- Lists the rough patches of the last day, so a bad evening of play has a reason.
Before you update
- Nothing: it starts measuring as soon as you hire it.
Installing
- Castellan installs and updates it by itself. To install it by hand, unpack the zip anywhere and run
node src\cli.ts install(Node 22.18 or later).SHA256SUMS.txtlists its SHA-256 (PowerShell:Get-FileHash).
